Don't Quit

I have found myself rereading "Heart Full Of Soul", these past few days. There are so many powerful take-away messages!! Coincidentally, I then happened across the following video and poem. Great presentation on this video!
What today's blog boils down to is ... Never Give Up!

The Don't Quit Poem
When things go wrong, as they sometimes will,
When the road you're trudging seems all uphill,
When the funds are low and the debts are high,
And you want to smile, but you have to sigh,
When care is pressing you down a bit,
Rest, if you must, but don't you quit.

Life is queer with its twists and turns,
As every one of us sometimes learns,
And many a failure turns about,
When he might have won had he stuck it out;
Don't give up though the pace seems slow--
You may succeed with another blow.

Often the goal is nearer than,
It seems to a faint and faltering man,
Often the struggler has given up,
When he might have captured the victor's cup,
And he learned too late when the night slipped down,
How close he was to the golden crown.

Success is failure turned inside out--
The silver tint of the clouds of doubt,
And you never can tell how close you are,
It may be near when it seems so far,
So stick to the fight when you're hardest hit--
It's when things seem worst that you must not quit.

Bloom, this is, indeed, a very inspirational post.

Sometimes, life can certainly put obstacles in our path which seem impossible to overcome. Sometimes, we just need a friend to walk with us through the dark days; someone who believes in us and won't let us quit. Our friends often recognize the strengths that we possess better than we do. I hope that everyone has a "friend" who offers them support on those days that they feel most alone and want to just give up.

"Walking with a friend in the dark is better than walking alone in the light."
- Helen Keller

"My best friend is the one who brings out the best in me."
- Henry Ford

"I get by with a little help from my friends."
- John Lennon

When one has spent so much time trying to accomplish a goal, persistence can be difficult to hold on to. Believing in ourselves can be difficult to continue doing if we have taken a few mis-steps along the way. Wouldn't it be wonderful if we held on to the persistence we had as babies? Have you ever watched a baby try to do something new? When they are learning to walk, they fall many times and yet they keep getting up and trying again. They never care about who is watching them fall. They just "know" that they want to walk and they will eventually reach that goal.

Winston Churchill:
If you're going through hell, keep going.

On a much lighter note, Bloom, this quote made me laugh. I am sure we have all felt this way frm time to time.

W. C. Fields:
If at first you don't succeed, try, try again. Then quit. No use being a damn fool about it.

Hopefully, those who have dreams will just keep trying even if those days come when they may lose faith in themselves.

Thoughts are things; believing in thoughts with all of your being will see you through to the end zone - making them real!
