Blooming With Romance

I am a romantic at heart and I love Love stories!

Paris is one of the most romantic cities in the world, filled with beautiful gardens, castles and great music ... but it doesn't matter how wonderful a place is ... if you're not with the one who holds your heart.

Taylor Hicks' "Places I've Been" is truly one of the most beautiful of love songs and stories.

It is the tale of a travelling man who realizes the only place he really wants to be.

My heart simply melts when I hear Taylor sing this song.
I find myself imagining he calls his love, baby girl, as he does in "Dream Myself Awake", and thinking that there wouldn't be a dry eye in the house when he sings it live!

I took my imagination a bit further and created a "Places I've Been" love story in pictures, and it is oh so romantic!

It just so happened that You Tube chose my Paris image as my video cover, well "April in Paris" is certainly romantic!

I hope you enjoy all of the wonderful photos and that you'll click thru to enjoy the larger screen available at You Tube and feel inspired to leave me a comment!

Taylor Hicks ~ "Places I've Been"

April at the 'Pond' has been blooming with romance!

Taylor Hicks singing about sweet Honeysuckle in full bloom, Sugarland singing about "April Showers", visions of an exotic romantic holiday in Italy with the movie 'Enchanted April' and lastly "April in Paris".

Bloom, Places I've Been is one of those songs that just seems to hit you and take you down a road that perhaps has not been travelled for some time. I have always wished that Taylor would have performed this song but he never did. I wonder if we will ever know why he hasn't done that? It is a beautiful song. Like your quote says, "Love" always finds you again somewhere down the road.

Strange as it seems, I have seen things like that happen three times within my own family. Lost loves re-appearing after 30 or even 50 years and to most people, it may seem unfathomable but it really does happen.

I really enjoyed watching your video. You did a superb job in putting together that story! I think that the Paris image was just meant to be the picture for your video. I have always wanted to visit Paris - hopefully, one day I will!

Thanks again, Bloom, for putting so much effort into the blog and into your videos! I really do appreciate all of the time you take to keep this blog going!

See you next time at the pond!

Hey girl, you know many people had mixed feelings about this song.
Some seemed to feel it fit Taylor's life perfectly, and some thought it wasn't the right choice for him to record.
Much mention was made of the fact that it was written by Diane Warren, whose name I wasn't even familiar with at the time.
Now of course I recognize it, and other than having learned that she had written several academy award winning songs I still don't know much of anything else about her.
I do know that Taylor sings this song beautifully, and for whatever reason he has chosen not to perform it ... I guess it is his call.
I believe the images I used to depict this love story were some of the most beautiful photographs I have ever seen.
It is a shame that the player at
You Tube doesn't do them justice.
I am really surprised and disappointed by the lack of interest in this video so far.
I thought it so romantic and the images really brought the lyrics and emotions that Taylor made us feel to life.
I guess this wasn't the best time to create a new video as there doesn't seem to be much interest being generated by videos right now, seems everyone is waiting for his new music and for him to begin touring again.

Thanks my friend for your never ending support of both Taylor and me :-)
