As I mentioned before I came over and looked around but didn't leave a comment then. Well, decided no better time than the present. I love Christmas and since this post is about Christmas, I thought I would do as you requested and post what I had said about Taylor here. I can't remember my exact words, but I had mentioned that Taylor reminded me of Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer because like Rudolph he had been laughed at and rejected by his peers until one night when they realized how specially gifted he was. I believe that will happen with Taylor, too, when his special uniqueness is discovered and embraced. I know I summed it up a little more concisely when I wrote to you, but I think the point is still there. The unbelievers will someday believe!

This may not have been the place to write this but since I am still feeling my way around here, it looked like a good spot.

Thank you for your great videos -- especially the Christmas ones. I will try to get back here more often -- thank you again -- this is a beautiful site.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7836429639172326146.post-60276876762909923432007-11-13T11:02:00.000-05:002007-11-13T11:02:00.000-05:00Karin what a wonderful idea of your Children's Hos...Karin what a wonderful idea of your Children's Hospital benefitting from the homeowners' holiday lights display!
I hope the traffic and donations increase ten-fold this year!

The street I grew up on as child attracted vistors far and wide too. Every single home was lit up and decorated, now sadly hardly anyone puts up lights anymore.
Though my next door neighbor, who happens to be an electrician, makes the news every year. His home is quite an impressive site.

I thought it too cool that I had a picture of Main Street Billards all lit up. It fit in perfectly with Bob Seger's 'Main Steet' as he sings about the pool halls.

Taylor's 'Main Steet' continues to be one of my favorites of his acoustical performances.
It was awesome to sit on the edge of the stage to watch him and listen!!!
I was blessed to be at several of Taylor's concerts with amazing acoustical performances this past year.
I'm still wishing a video would magically appear from his Greensburg performance of 'The Fall', tears still come to my eyes every time I remember how special it was.
And in Hagerstown I was front row for 'Happier With Him', and everyone knows how amazing that heart wrenching performance was!

Speaking of amazing, can't wait to get my hands on Taylor Hicks' Whomp At The Warfield DVD!!
There are some great videos at you tube from this concert, but watching it on a big screen TV ... will feel almost like being there!!!Bloomhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14321885442060047909noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7836429639172326146.post-73360500033872303862007-11-13T01:16:00.000-05:002007-11-13T01:16:00.000-05:00I must say that I am so impressed with all of the ...I must say that I am so impressed with all of the beautiful Christmas lights. It is amazing that the smaller towns are the ones who keep the Christmas traditions and it is magical shopping in places like that. I have been to Frankenmuth and it is Christmas there all year round.

Christmas is such a magical time of year and I really enjoy it. I am noticing that not as many homeowners are putting up Christmas lights as they used to.

We do have a very great display in part of our city. The traffic is unbelievable and each house in the survey tries to outdo the neighbours. What is very special about it is that they ask for donations to the Children's Hospital from everyone who visits and I think that each year the donations increase and just builds the momentum to add more lights next season.

I also enjoyed watching that Main Street Performance from the audience, Bloom. I was really surprised to hear that Bob Seger tune and so glad that I did. I really enjoyed Bob Seger's music and that song was one of my favourite ones.

Thanks for sharing your Christmas light pictures, Bloom. Yes, Taylor lights up our lives but the addition of Christmas lights just makes it more mystical.KarinPhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17723515397274278683noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7836429639172326146.post-16112867649728805352007-11-12T10:51:00.000-05:002007-11-12T10:51:00.000-05:00Judy I can't wait to see the lights this year, wit...Judy I can't wait to see the lights this year, with so many more lights being added the sky should be lit up for miles!
Rochester is a small town with a population of just over 11,000.
While I'm looking forward to the first lighting, I can just imagine the traffic!Bloomhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14321885442060047909noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7836429639172326146.post-91421768110640981222007-11-11T18:33:00.000-05:002007-11-11T18:33:00.000-05:00Oh, Bloom!! You're town is just beautiful!!! What ...Oh, Bloom!! You're town is just beautiful!!! What a wonderful tradition you have there. Here in Birmingham, when I was a child...two of the big department stores in downtown B'ham always decorated their windows...it was like a magical wonderland...Sadly, as the people moved to the suburbs...and the downtown area of town fell into rough times...that wonderful tradition came to an end...so very sad...I think of all the children who would never get to see this gorgeous sight each year.

I applaud your hometown for keeping up the tradition of all the magical lights at Christmas...it IS absolutely beautiful!!!JSNorrishttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02422010555225482381noreply@blogger.com
